Sony is going to release the new model of their compact action camera series. "HDR-AS30V" will be released on October 11 and comes with a waterproof case and mount attachment. "HDR-AS30VR" will be released on December 6, which is the basic "HDR-AS30V" model and also includes the new wrist-watch type live-view remote control.

This new camera weights only 90g with built-in CMOS image sensor "Exmor R" (total pixels: 16.8 million pixels) and Wi-Fi/NFC functions. It supports the electronic camera-shake correction system compatible with intense activities like cycling, sky diving, etc.

The accompanying waterproof case is 5m waterproof and 1.5m shockproof. Even with the case on, you can control the camera. The new wrist-watch type live-view remote control is interesting as well. It can connect with the camera via Wi-Fi, and you can check the angle of the movie you are taking and control the start and stop of recording.
