Olympus - Mirrorless camera flagship model "OLYMPUS OM-D E-M1"
Olympus announced that they will release their new mirrorless digital camera "OLYMPUS OM-D E-M1" in early October. This camera will focus the various technologies of the company into this one flagship model.
An important feature of this flagship model is that it can be used with lenses that were made not only for mirrorless cameras but also for single-lens reflex cameras. Olympus also revealed that their business will focus on mirrorless cameras from now on because they don't have any plans to release new single-lens reflex camera models any more.
"E-M1" was developed based on the "E-M5" model. "E-M1" has the highest effective pixels (1.628 million pixels) among all Olympus camera models, and its size became 40% smaller than "E-5".
This waterproof and dustprpoof camera also features the newly developed digital view finder and AF system "DUAL FAST AF" to maximize the performance of their lenses including the ZUIKO lens for single-lens reflex cameras and the M.ZUIKO for mirrorless cameras.
Price: About ¥145,000 (only for the body).
