Directer Hayao Miyazaki will retire from making feature films
The rumor has turned into a reality...
Studio Ghibli held a press interview at the Venice Film Festival, and its president, Koji Hoshino, made the shocking announcement at the end of the interview.
World-famous animation maestro, 72-year-old directer Hayao Miyazaki, will retire from making feature films with "Kaze Tachinu".
For Ghibli fans, it must be heart-wrenching news, however the president only mentioned the maestro's retirement from feature films, so hopefully he will continue making short films.
Hayao Miyazaki plans to talk about the details in an interview in Japan on September 6.
