Panasonic - LUMIX DMC-GX7 - High-end mirror-less camera with tillable EVF

August 1, 2013, Panasonic has revealed their new mirror-less camera "LUMIX DMC-GX7". It features an electronic view finder (EVF) that is capable of tilting in the range of 90 degrees upward for the first time. The finder has high definition 2.76 million dots which is the highest in any other existing digital single-lens reflex camera.

The camera is around ¥105,000, and the lens kit (GX7 and pancake lens "LUMIX G 20mm/F1.7 II ASPH.") is around ¥130,000. Both are scheduled to be available on September 12, 2013.

For the first time in the series, it is equipped with a sensor-shift image stabilization system that is built inside of the camera body. Until now, Panasonic had adopted a lens-shift image stabilization system and the correction did not work with non-compatible lenses, however, because GX7 has the system in its body, the correction is able to work with any lens that you have.

Image quality and shooting performance have been increased. Image sensor was changed to the new-generation type to make some improvements on noise performance and collection efficiency. It's compatible with the high-speed shutter of 1/8000 second for the first time.

Pancake lens "LUMIX G 20mm/F1.7 II ASPH." comes with the lens kit. It weights 87g which is about 13% lighter than previous models.

Color: Silver, Black
Image sensor: 4/3inch Live CMOS sensor (1.6 million effective pixel)
ISO: ISO125~25600
Monitor: 3 inch touch panel (1.04 million dot) tiltable
Finder: Live vier finder (2.76 million dot) tiltable
